Tumescent Liposuction
Many men turn to liposuction to eliminate or reduce unwanted "love handles", and bulges on their abdomen and chest that cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise. The
procedure sculpts the body to its proper proportions, and many patients find that self-image and self-confidence improve as well.

The dramatic results obtained through liposuction can be maintained by adhering to a healthy diet and exercise program.
Procedure
A tiny incision is made in an inconspicuous location near the area to be treated. The surgeon uses a small cannula to suction fat cells that are causing the undesirable proportion.
Post-Operative Care
Immediately following the procedure, patients may feel a burning sensation and moderate discomfort, which can be managed with over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers. Patients
must wear a snug support garment for approximately three weeks following the procedure to keep bruising and swelling to a minimum. Depending on the area treated, optimal improvement in one's appearance is usually realized in three to six months
after treatment.
When to Have the Procedure
Liposuction can be performed on most individuals with diet-resistant fat accumulations; however, the ideal candidate is healthy with good skin elasticity. The procedure should
not be considered a substitute for weight loss and, therefore, should not be performed on severely obese individuals. Although the procedure can virtually eliminate bothersome bulges from certain areas of the body, it cannot remove waffled skin
caused by cellulite.
