Frequent Questions About Cosmetic Surgery
How
much discomfort will I experience?
During
your cosmetic procedure, IV sedation will be administered so you
will not feel any discomfort. For a few days following cosmetic
surgery, patients usually experience varying degrees of discomfort,
which can be relieved with prescription or over-the-counter pain
medication, depending on the procedure performed.
How
soon will I get back to work?
Most
cosmetic surgery patients are back to work in seven to ten days,
however the procedure performed and your type of work you do play
a role.
How
long can I expect the result to last?
Cosmetic
Surgery and Skin Rejuvenation procedures cannot stop the clock,
but they can turn back the hands of time. The results obtained with
certain procedures such as a facelift, foreheads lift, eyelid surgery,
abdominal tuck or a deep chemical peel can last up to ten years
or longer.
Other
procedures that reshape or correct an imbalance such as surgery
of the nose, cheek or chin augmentation, and breast augmentation
offer permanent benefits that last a lifetime.
Will there be any scarring?
Yes.
However they probably won't be noticeable. Dr. Brandy makes every
effort to minimize scars and hide them in natural lines and creases.
For the majority of procedures, scars fade over time becoming barely
noticeable.
When
possible, Dr. Brandy takes preventive measures by subcutaneous suturing
to reduce tension on the wound once closed. This technique helps
promote the formation of a fine scar that fades into the skin.
Will
my insurance plan cover the procedure?
Usually
not. But there are occasionally exceptions when a procedure is medically
necessary. Often this involves coverage of a portion of the expense.
Can
I finance my procedure?
Yes, interest-free or low interest financing options are available for those who qualify. Low monthly payments make virtually every procedure affordable. For more information, visit http://www.theskincentermd.com/carecredit.html or contact our office at 800-429-1151.
