Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation, or mentoplasty, can help a man with a recessed or underdeveloped chin obtain a more masculine appearance. Individuals often are surprised at the dramatic aesthetic improvement following the procedure.

In some cases, chin augmentation is performed in combination with facial liposuction for optimal results.
Procedure
Through a small incision either underneath the chin where it will be inconspicuous or inside the mouth where it will be completely hidden, the surgeon positions a medical grade implant in front of the individual's natural chin.
Post-Operative Care
Shortly after chin augmentation, patients notice significant improvement in their appearance. The procedure results in minimal discomfort, which can be controlled with prescribed pain relievers. Following the procedure, a bandage helps to support
the chin when talking and eating. Dental brushing and flossing must be done more gently than usual.
When to Have the Procedure
Mentoplasty procedures are most commonly performed on individuals after their chins are fully developed. When the procedure is performed on teenagers, a slightly larger implant may be recommended since the chin continues to grow into early adulthood.
